Safeguard LVP

LOW VISCOSITY OSMOSIS TREATMENT PRIMER

FOR GEL PEELED GRP

SAFEGUARD LVP is a clear, solvent free, low viscosity two component epoxy osmosis treatment primer for peeled GRP.  It contains additives that promote the displacement of air and bonding of the new coating to the existing resin and reinforcement. SAFEGUARD LVP will penetrate and consolidate resin starved and porous areas of laminate.

Safeguard LVP low viscosity epoxy primer penetrates and consolidates gel peeled GRP

SAFEGUARD LVP is supplied with hardeners that provide excellent adhesion to the substrate together with a long over-coating period.

PREPARATION The peeled GRP should be prepared in accordance with the instructions in our Osmosis Treatment Guide. The hull should then be washed with clean fresh water and allowed to dry or be dusted, preferably using clean, dry compressed air.

MIXING Please click here for full mixing instructions

APPLICATION  Any areas of porous laminate should first be treated by applying SAFEGUARD LVP and keeping the area saturated in order to allow as much resin as possible to penetrate and consolidate the laminate. When the porous areas have been treated apply one coat of SAFEGUARD LVP over the remainder of the hull.
